As of late...

Poor blog is being neglected.  But really, not much is going on here!  We've just been working and that's about it.

I guess we did get Dan a new car last weekend, that was fun.  He was ready to finally get a car that he fit in comfortably.

Lately I've been using my silhouette for a few things.  It is so much fun!  I made this to go on top of our cupboards:

I also made a surprise with my silhouette for my nephew and sent it to him in the mail.  He and I are kind of pen pals :).  He sent me a picture this week and it made my day!

At work today was 100 day.  The whole day was dedicated to activities involving 100 since we've been in school 100 days.  Let's see... we put 100 fruit loops on necklaces, stacked 100 plastic cups, put 100 stickers on a chart, each kid frosted 5 cookies which totaled 100 for the whole class, we made 100 day hats, and lots more.  All of our activities were even done in 100 minutes!  The kids seemed to have a great time!

Oh and this past week was the 150th birthday of St. George, so we went to the celebration for it.  We felt we had to participate because it's not every day you turn 150!

So that's us.  Just going through January and looking forward to some warmer weather soon (i hope)!

Christmas & New Years

I have been trying to write this post for a week now!  Work has started back up again so I've been busy with other things.  But now that we have 9:00 church I've got the whole afternoon free!  We had a fun Christmas just the 2 of us.  We slept in, opened presents (Dan got me a Silhouette and I've already got lots of projects in mind...  I got him Wii Fit and I think I use it more than he does.  I love it!), had a yummy breakfast, went to church where Dan played a special musical number, and even had a district of missionaries (10 of them) over that evening for treats and a movie (17 Miracles).  I wish I took pictures of our celebration, but I didn't.

For New Years we went to Southern California to spend time with Dan's family.  My favorite part was going to Santa Monica Pier.  It was a really neat place!   We walked along the beach and got lunch at a little beach cafe, rode the roller coaster on the Pier, and played a few carnival games.  We then walked up to 3rd street promenade, an outdoor mall with every store imaginable.  Unfortunately it was getting cold and foggy so we didn't stay too long.  That evening we rang in the New Year by playing games and eating chocolate fondue.

I did snap a few photos with my new iphone (other x-mas gift... i love it.  it definitely lives up to the hype).

The Pier.  You can kind of see it amid the fog.

Santa Monica beach.

On the Pier.  And freezing a little bit.

3rd Street Promenade.  The football is Dan's prize from one of the carnival games.

Happy New Year!

We also went mini golfing one night in CA.  I did horrible.
We had so much fun we've decided to go back to So. Cal during my spring break in March!  When we saw Jet Blue had tickets for $29 each way we knew we couldn't pass up that kind of deal.  We'll be spending most of our time in Newport Beach.  I'm already looking forward to whale watching and the Newport Beach Temple!

glasses

Here is my Dan in his new glasses.  I think he looks smart and handsome (but i always think that).

We celebrated his birthday with Kneaders french toast, opening presents, a game of tennis (yes, in mid-December... it was awesome), relaxing, new glasses, dinner at Outback, and watching the new Pirates movie (Dan thought it was ok, i fell asleep).  Today the celebration continues with a yummy dinner and chocolate pudding parfaits for dessert (Dan loves pudding).

Happy Birthday!

To my most amazing husband!  Here he is with all his presents (spoiled! haha... but he more than deserves it):

What he wanted most this year was a recliner.  We ended up driving to Cedar City this week to get the one he wanted.  It was quite the trip!  We got there and it was 17 degrees!  I forgot what freezing felt like.  I also failed to mention we were both in sweatshirts- dressed for St. George winter, not Cedar winter!  It was also quite the task trying to fit the recliner in the back of the car and we stood in the cold for about 20 minutes trying to get it to fit (thanks to the worker who also stood in the cold to help us).  Luckily it fit and we were so happy to get back to our 38 degree St. George.  It always baffles me how just 40 minutes away it is sooooooo much colder.

Regardless, it was worth it.  The birthday boy (i mean man) needs his birthday throne :).  Happy Birthday, Dan!  I love you!!!

Family Pictures

We got our family pictures back!  Dan and I haven't really had any professional pictures taken of us except for our wedding.  It was fun and I really like how they turned out.  Thanks to my friend Jessica for taking them for us!  Here are a few of my favorites... I'm not posting the one on our Christmas card though, you'll just have to look in the mail (but don't look too soon... i won't be sending them out for a week or so).
