Update time!

I feel like i haven't blogged in forever! So here is a quick little update....

Biggest news of the week- we got a keyboard! It's a nice one too. We are excited because now Dan can play piano. He loves playing and is really good at it, so now he finally has something to practice on. One day we would like a real piano, but for now this will have to do. I'm pretty sure our upstairs neighbors would not appreciate us playing a real piano (i'm sure they are already bothered by our rockband playing). Plus we don't even have room for a real piano. So yay for our new keyboard. I even played a few hymns the other day... i think it took me about 10 min. to get through 2 songs! My skills are a little rusty.... (but Daniel's playing is fabulous as always!)

Second on our list of news, only 4 more times left in practicum and I will be DONE! hooray! It's been fun, and the kids have been good, but I am ready for summer. I need a break!

Also, I decided once it gets warm I am going to start running! But it's still snowing here in Utah, so this will have to wait for a few weeks. I hope I can keep it up for more than 2 days....

Daniel's job loves him and wants him to stay in Utah forever and ever, but.... we are now considering the Phoenix area. We plan on checking it out in the near future. We've decided we'll take extreme heat over extreme cold any day!

Enchiladas

So last night I decided to try a new chicken enchilada recipe. I got the recipe off of kraftfoods.com. Which has some pretty good recipes. It sounded really good, however, before you put it in the oven it tells you to cover the enchiladas with salsa and cheese (no sauce). Dan doesn't really like salsa (he thinks it only belongs on chips), so I decided to put some enchilada sauce on it. Well.... we had this western family enchilada sauce that we had gotten at Macey's, it's a kind we've never tried, but it was cheap. I then put them in the oven and 20 min. later we were ready to eat. So... turns out, the enchilada sauce was DISGUSTING! probably one of the worst things i have ever tasted. I really think the enchiladas would have been good, but the sauce completely ruined them. We ended up just scraping the inside chicken part out, which was really good. I just wanted to warn everyone out there to NEVER buy western family enchilada sauce, it is horrible. I highly recommend the Old Elpaso brand, that's my personal favorite. Anyway, just thought i'd share that bit of advice for all of you.....

My Husband!

So my sister-in-law did this on her facebook and I thought it looked fun! Dan will have to tell me if i'm right :)

Here's a chance to see how well you really know your husband. Cut, paste and fill in the answers . . . shoot, you know what to do. The real challenge is to send it to your husband to see how right you really are.

1. He's sitting in front of the TV, what is on the screen? ESPN... definitely. Unless it's Monday night, then it's 24. And if i'm there, it'll be: Gilmore Girls, HGTV, American Idol or Survivor.

2. You're out to eat; what kind of dressing does he get on his salad? Usually italian... but last time he got ranch.

3. What's one food he doesn't like? he doesn't like... reese's peanut butter cups! which still baffles me cuz they are my favorite!

4. You go out to eat and have a drink. um... rootbeer or sometimes those flavored lemonades.

5. Where did he go to high school? Leigh High

6. What size shoe does he wear? ok i honestly don't remember this... i'm guessing an 11? i'm now going to cheat and look in the closet, hold on.... dang it, the shoe in the closet said "12"! I was close though....

7. If he was to collect anything, what would it be? um.... anything sports related. we do have a collection of shot glasses though. we get them any place we visit together, we started it on our honeymoon.

8. What is his favorite type of sandwich? i'm going to say a BLT, cuz it has bacon. But sometimes I ask what kind of sandwich to make him and then he wants grilled cheese. And if he makes it, then PB&J it is!

9. What would this person eat every day if he could? bacon! haha... or maybe pizza. he likes pizza.

10. What is his favorite cereal? oooh too many to choose from. we always have at least 10 boxes on hand (which I never eat). I'm going with... cinnamon toast crunch, cookie crisps, the sugary stuff, really.

11. What would he never wear? plaid. I like those plaid shorts but he hates them for guys.

12. What is his favorite sports team? The San Jose Sharks (hockey).

13. Who did he vote for? Obama.

14. Who is his best friend? ME of course! As for guys then Steve or Brian in Cali or Scot in Provo.

15. What is something you do that he wishes you wouldn't do? Nothing, I'm perfect :) although sometimes my Utah "accent" kicks in and he has to tell me how to really pronounce words... apparently I have issues saying "especially" haha...

16. What is his heritage? Well the name Deceuster is from Belgium. So that gets my vote.

17. You bake him a cake for his birthday; what kind of cake? For his birthday he didn't want cake, he wanted chocolate pie.

18. Did he play sports in high school? YES. hockey and baskeball. i'm sure he did other things, but i can't remember!

19. What could he spend hours doing? playing sports or playing rockband/guitar hero. or spending time with ME :)

20. What is one unique talent he has? there's so many to choose from... he's extremely athletic, amazing at music, smart, funny, handsome, thoughtful.... and the list could go on....

i love you, Dan! :)
