i am surprised at how many people have voted no! but it's ok, i'm not getting a cricut....
the more i looked into it the more i realized how expensive it would be! not only do you buy the machine, but you also have to buy cartridges that go with it. then you have to replace the blade, which gets dull quite frequently and you have to replace the mats as well. plus find a place to get lots of vinyl. it just seemed like too much work and probably more money than we would have thought. although it still would have been fun. but alas, the infomercials always make things seem too good to be true!
instead we got a new computer today! haha... ours runs REALLY slow.... so we decided it was time to get a new one. money well spent! :)

Crafty business
So Michele and I saw this infomercial for the Cricut. For those who don't know what it is, it looks like a large printer for a computer. You can put paper, plastic, chipboard, vinyl and other stuff into it to be cut. It can be programmed to cut any number of shapes and designs.
Michele loves crafts and I want her to have it. She thinks it is a bit expensive, which it is. So we talked about having a side business for her in making crafts. If people need vinyl letters for their own crafts or any other shape or design of various materials, she could create them. We could put a button on our blog to let people know Michele does this kind of thing.
That could offset the cost and she would have a blast doing it. So I ask, should we get the Cricut and have Michele start a side business with it? Would anyone be interested in using her craft skills to assist them in their own craft making efforts? Leave a comment and let us know. And don't forgot to participate in the poll question on the side.
Thanks!

American Idol
ok so..... I don't know who else is watching American Idol out there, but Dan and I have seen every episode this season! I have never been into Idol before, but we decided to try it out and now we are hooked! Ever since we got a DVR we have watched a lot more tv. I love it because we record everything, watch it when we have time, and don't have to suffer through commercials!
Back to idol, here are my picks this season: Kris Allen and Adam Lambert. I think they are both great! We'll see if they make it to the end.... I even put both of them on my current playlist on the blog :)

Update time!
I feel like i haven't blogged in forever! So here is a quick little update....
Biggest news of the week- we got a keyboard! It's a nice one too. We are excited because now Dan can play piano. He loves playing and is really good at it, so now he finally has something to practice on. One day we would like a real piano, but for now this will have to do. I'm pretty sure our upstairs neighbors would not appreciate us playing a real piano (i'm sure they are already bothered by our rockband playing). Plus we don't even have room for a real piano. So yay for our new keyboard. I even played a few hymns the other day... i think it took me about 10 min. to get through 2 songs! My skills are a little rusty.... (but Daniel's playing is fabulous as always!)
Second on our list of news, only 4 more times left in practicum and I will be DONE! hooray! It's been fun, and the kids have been good, but I am ready for summer. I need a break!
Also, I decided once it gets warm I am going to start running! But it's still snowing here in Utah, so this will have to wait for a few weeks. I hope I can keep it up for more than 2 days....
Daniel's job loves him and wants him to stay in Utah forever and ever, but.... we are now considering the Phoenix area. We plan on checking it out in the near future. We've decided we'll take extreme heat over extreme cold any day!

Enchiladas
So last night I decided to try a new chicken enchilada recipe. I got the recipe off of kraftfoods.com. Which has some pretty good recipes. It sounded really good, however, before you put it in the oven it tells you to cover the enchiladas with salsa and cheese (no sauce). Dan doesn't really like salsa (he thinks it only belongs on chips), so I decided to put some enchilada sauce on it. Well.... we had this western family enchilada sauce that we had gotten at Macey's, it's a kind we've never tried, but it was cheap. I then put them in the oven and 20 min. later we were ready to eat. So... turns out, the enchilada sauce was DISGUSTING! probably one of the worst things i have ever tasted. I really think the enchiladas would have been good, but the sauce completely ruined them. We ended up just scraping the inside chicken part out, which was really good. I just wanted to warn everyone out there to NEVER buy western family enchilada sauce, it is horrible. I highly recommend the Old Elpaso brand, that's my personal favorite. Anyway, just thought i'd share that bit of advice for all of you.....
