Swimmer's ear

I don't really like to complain, but i have to because my ear hurts SOOOOOOOO bad!!!!  And it's my blog, so i can do what i want :).  Anyway just yesterday i started having a lot of ear pain.  I figured it would go away so i just did some random home remedies to help.  Some of them kind of took the pain away temporarily, but it just kept on hurting.  I really was trying to avoid the doctor because we don't have health insurance.  I mean... we applied over 2 months ago when Dan started his new job and we STILL don't have it!  Something really is wrong with the healthcare in the country.  But anyway, last night at about 8 i could no longer stand the pain (eating dinner even hurt).  I looked up the instacare hours and luckily they were open til 9.  So we went and we paid $100.  It was worth it though because the doctor said i have swimmer's ear (an infection that needs to be treated and would only get worse without antibiotics... i can't imagine how it could feel any worse though).  It hurts more than the ear infections lots of people get when they are kids (the doctor even said so).  I was confused because i haven't been swimming in a while (it's been at least a few weeks), but you can still get swimmer's ear without swimming.  It's an infection in the ear canal and i honestly feel like my ear canal is swollen shut!  haha... i can barely hear out of it.  Anyway the doctor was very nice and instead of making me go buy the prescription (which would have been another $100), he gave me free samples of ear drops to clear it up.  Hooray!  I started taking the ear drops last night and i'm hoping they work soon.  Ok that's it, done with my complaining.  Thanks for reading :).

Now i'm going to go watch that movie "You Again" which i have had from Netflix for like 2 weeks now.  I'm justifying sitting and watching a movie today and doing nothing because i don't feel good :).

Sugardoodle

So a while back my sister in law, Becky, told me about this website.  It is a great resource if you teach primary!  It has lots of ideas for each lesson... it also has sharing time and music ideas.  I usually just use it for sunbeam ideas because that is my calling (which by the way, i LOVE), but... i have also seen it has ideas for young womens, relief society, and even FHE.  Just as I was looking at it the other day, I also saw it had cute stuff for conference.  Since conference is coming (i am so excited!) i thought i'd share the site.  It may be especially useful for you parents who are looking for things to help your kids pay attention.  You can find it here:  Sugardoodle.

Good luck!  I hope you all enjoy conference :)

Yum!

I just heard some awesome news today! Kneaders is coming to St. George!!! I am soooooo excited. I love their french toast and have seriously missed it since moving here. Apparently they just broke ground last week. Now all I need is a Zupas and I could stay here forever :).

I told Dan the day it opens we are getting french toast! Even if it is totally against our "eating healthy" goal.... yummy! i can't wait!

fish & veggies

So we kind of had an eventful weekend. On Friday Dan and I went to the Home & Garden Expo. We were hoping to get some ideas for our future home. It wasn't quite as exciting as I had hoped. However, we did get a free goldfish! A swimming pool company was handing them out, so i got one. Which was slightly shocking b/c Dan has told me we would NEVER have pets. Not that he doesn't like animals, he just doesn't like having to take care of them. It's amazing the things I can talk that guy into ;). So we got the fish, then after the show we went and bought some food for it. We even named it Sharkie on the way home. The next morning we found Sharkie dead! Can you believe it? Only lasted 1 day. R.I.P. Sharkie. I went to Walmart to buy another fish b/c I figured we already had a can full of food for it but when I got there I decided I didn't even want one. I am crazy, I know. So if anyone out there needs some goldfish food, I have some you can have for free!

Also during this weekend Dan's brother Ethan came down to visit. His wife & baby are out of town so Dan wanted to invite him down to play some golf. On Saturday the boys went golfing and to some movie I would have never wanted to see (thank you Ethan for going with Dan so I didn't have to). While they were out I did some shopping and the most exciting part of the weekend (for me at least).... I planted vegetables! I am SO excited!!! I really, really hope they grow and I don't kill them. I have never had a green thumb, but I'm hoping this time is different. Here they are... my tomato & cucumber plants:

And can I just say the old men at Walmart were super helpful? Because they were. They were so nice and told me all I needed to know about planting my plants. My brother, Joel, was also helpful. I called him and he told me everything I needed to buy. Thanks, Joel!

We also took Ethan to our favorite St. George Mexican restaurant and some ice cream place that has been in St. George for like 50 years. We watched Megamind (if you haven't seen it, you should!), and we watched some March Madness. Ok I'm not really into it, but my bracket is beating Dan's :). Hey, he's the one who made me fill it out in the first place.
