Our condo

I am finally getting around to putting up pics of our new condo! I was going to wait until it was all clean and organized, but then i realized that would probably never happen, so here they are... please excuse the imperfections :)

This is the living room, it's what you'd see first if you walked in the door.
This is the balcony, it also has a storage closet out there, which has been very helpful!

This the kitchen, obviously, I really love the knotty alder cabinets and the black granite countertops. I also like the matching black appliances... which you can't really see.

Here is the dining area, with the floating shelves that my awesome husband put up for me. And behind those doors are the washer/dryer. There is also a pantry, it just didn't make it in the pic.

Guest bathroom. If you stay with us, you can use it!

Bedroom #1 (Dan's study)

Bedroom #2 (my craft room) and there's that huge stuffed animal!

Master bath, this is my side...

and this is Dan's side. We LOVE having 2 sinks!

This is our walk in closet. It's hard to tell, but you really can walk in! And we love it!

And here is the end of our tour, the master bedroom. It's a lot bigger than our last room, this picture doesn't really show how big it is though. I think Dan wants to get a king size bed, now that we have the room for it! Our last apt. barely fit this queen! I'm also trying to decide if i want to paint a green accent wall behind the bed... suggestions, anyone?

Hope you all enjoyed it! We are really loving it! Now come visit us so you can see the real thing. Did i mention we have a pool? :)

Pioneer Weekend

We had a fabulous long weekend, so I thought I'd blog about it. It all started Thursday night when we went to the Orem Owlz baseball game with some of my siblings. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me, so I didn't get any pics of it. I had never been to one of their games, so it was a lot of fun. There also weren't too many people, so we had great seats. After the game we headed over to Dan's brothers' house where we enjoyed some cheesecake with he and his wife. We then stayed up chatting til really late. We are usually in bed by 11:00, so this 2 am night wasn't something we were used to- I haven't done that since I was single! haha

The next day we slept in and eventually made our way up to Lagoon! I love going to Lagoon, it always reminds me of my childhood. Our old bishop gave us great discount passes, so we figured we'd use them. I thought the place would be packed, considering it was a holiday, but it really wasn't packed at all. We hardly waited in any lines- the only long line was for the log flume ride where you get wet and since it was hot, it made sense the line was a long one! We rode all the rides and my sister Noelle and her bf Jared came with us. And since Dan and Jared both get sick on spinning rides, Noelle and I would go on them together while the guys sat on the sidelines. I have never gotten sick on a ride- it must be something great in our genes. The whole day Dan really wanted to play all of the games, but I didn't want to end up carrying stuffed animals around the park the whole time. So before we left to go home, we had about $15 in cash that I told Dan he could use on games. He won a few small animals and then Dan played the game where you try to get the baseball into the big jug, apparently it's pretty hard to do, but he did it and we won a huge stuffed animal! I was so proud of him! He was only the 9th person all day that had won that game- and the girl there said that is a lot of winners for one day. I love having a husband who is good at all of those games- you have no idea how many stuffed animals he has won for me out of games like that. When we have children, they will have plenty of toys waiting for them! That night we came home exhausted, but had a great time! Here we are waiting for the ride Wicked! I look really red, I didn't get sunburned, but it was really hot!
And here is the stuffed animal Dan won for me. It really is huge!

Saturday morning I had to get up at 6:30 am to be at BYU for a test at 7:30 am. It's called the Praxis and it's a test all teachers are required to take to certify. They basically test you on all subjects. It's hard to study for, because you have no idea what will be thrown at you. I think I did pretty well, but I won't get my scores for a month. The only part I wasn't sure about was the social studies. Hopefully I was good at guessing! After the test I came home and took a 2 hour nap! We then went to see Harry Potter. Dan has been waiting to see it. I wasn't sure if I would like it, since I hadn't read the book, but I really liked it! It was probably my favorite HP movie yet. I think I liked it because there wasn't as much violence in this one. And they had cute little love stories going on.

We had a great weekend! And soon I will post photos of our new condo. We are finally all settled in. I just have to make sure it's clean before I take any photos!

Picnik

I just found such a cool website! It's called picnik.com and it's a free photo editor. Anyway, I started messing around with it and it was super easy to use! It's what I used to make my new blog header. Anyway, just thought I'd share in case someone was looking for an easy photo editor. You can do a lot with it too, I was amazed. So go check it out! :)

Vegas/So. Cal Weekend

This past weekend Dan and I attended a family reunion in So. Cal. On our way there, we stopped in Vegas for the night. Aside from both getting sunburns at the beach, we had a great time! Here are a few photos....Dan at the Venetian by where they have the gondola rides.

Dan said I should stand by the Siegfried & Roy statues @ the Mirage.

Dan taking a much needed rest after wandering the streets in 90+ degree weather.

By the Eiffel Tower. My favorite part, the Bellagio Fountains.
Dan standing by the flamingos at our hotel, although it was night and they are hard to see.
The view out of our hotel room (we stayed at the Flamingo-right in the middle of the strip).
Here we are in California at the beach in Malibu (this was before we got sun burned).
Here is Dan digging a large trench while his brothers stand around in the background doing nothing!

I guess that is it for the pictures of our vacation. We are now back home slathering aloe vera on our burns every chance we get. What a great vacation!

New Condo!

So I'm pretty sure we are now owners of a new condo! I'm so excited about it! It is absolutely gorgeous and exactly what we were looking for. Actually no, it's better than what we were looking for!

It's kind of a crazy story, we really weren't planning on moving anytime soon. But for some reason we started looking more for fun and ended up becoming serious about it. It just felt like the right thing for us to do. Dan's job has been going great, and we have decided to stay here a little longer than we had originally planned. Seriously, from the first time I met Dan, he could hardly wait to get out of Utah. He likes it here, except for the snow! He hates cold and hates snow. But sometimes you meet the girl of your dreams and end up staying in places you never would have :) Once we got married Dan's plan was to get out of Utah as soon as I graduated. Well I'm graduating in December and it looks likes we will be staying in Utah much longer. Thus... we're buying a condo! We're sick of throwing away money month after month to rent and we are excited to actually own something and truly feel at home.

The condo is located in Pleasant Grove, which is about 10 min. north of Provo. It's a good location because I found out I will be student teaching in Alpine School district, which is just north of Provo. So that works out great. It's a little further commute for Dan, but we figured it would be fine.

It's 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and brand new. My favorite things about this condo are the granite countertops, the matching black appliances, the huge master bedroom, the huge walk-in closet in the master bedroom, and the his and her sinks in the master bath. It also has a really fun balcony that I can hardly wait to BBQ on. It is something I never thought we could afford. But I know that we have been blessed to find the perfect place for us that is within our budget! The minute I walked into the living room/kitchen of this condo, I knew I wanted it. I even said "ok, let's buy it! I don't even need to see the rest!" However, I'm glad we did, because it just kept on getting better!
For those in the area, we will definitely have to have you over once we are all settled in. We don't plan on moving in until August, but by that time I will for sure post photos!
