1 month

I can't believe Claire is already a month old!  Here are a few pictures I took of her yesterday.  I had planned on making those cute onesies with numbers on them for each month, but never got around to it.  In fact, I consider it an accomplishment that we even got pictures taken yesterday :).  

Here are a few tidbits about Claire at 1 month old.  It's more for me so I can always remember what she was like at this age.

1 month:

• Claire likes eating, bath time, tummy time, being held, her pacifier, going on walks outside, music (especially primary songs), light and staring out the window.
• She dislikes the nasal aspirator, and getting dressed.  
• She tolerates her swing and bouncer, but doesn't love them.   
• Claire is a good sleeper and sleeps well at night (lucky me!)
• Claire gets fussy when mommy eats chocolate (sad, I know)
• A few places she has been in the past month... the doctor's office, Target, Old Navy, Apollo Burger (mom and dad's first date night!), Church (we sat in the foyer), Daddy's office, and Grammie & Papa Joe's house.
• Claire survived jaundice and getting her tongue-tie clipped.
• Claire is starting to make big smiles at mommy and daddy!

I now understand why parents love posting pictures of their children!  And also, how do parents get anything done when they have a newborn?  I just want to sit and hold her all day!  Either that or sleep while she sleeps :).

8 days

Here is a recent pic of Claire.  I took it yesterday when she was 8 days old.  I can't believe 8 days have already gone by!  Time is already moving too fast.

She already looks different to me!  She has lost some weight and her hair is getting darker.

My parents stayed with us for a week.  It was so nice of them to come help!  We miss them already.  Claire is their first granddaughter (they have 11 grandsons), so hopefully we'll be seeing them more often!

Claire Michele Deceuster

We love this girl SO much!!!  She was born Monday, February 11th @ 5:15 pm.  She weighed 8 lbs. 15 oz. and was 21 inches long.  We were surprised by all of her hair!  Everyone at the hospital was obsessed with her hair.  They said it looked like she had been to the salon before she came out.  She was 10 days late so they finally decided to induce me.  We love being her parents.  She is such a sweet girl!

Overdue

I'm a week overdue and still no baby!  It's surprising since my doctor seemed so sure she'd be here last week.  But I guess you just never know!  The plan was to induce me tomorrow, however, then Dan came down with a nasty cold.  After talking with the doctor we have decided to wait until Monday for the induction.  I don't want Dan miserable the whole time and we really don't want the baby to get sick.  At least the end is in sight!  She could always come on her own before then, which I would actually prefer, so we'll see!  I just have to keep reminding myself we have waited a long time for her, what's a few more days?
