It's a...

GIRL!!!!!!!  At least we're 90% sure...  baby was being modest and made it hard to tell!  She was kind of laying weird and crossing her legs so the ultrasound tech had to look around for quite a while.  She was trying to get the baby to move.  Anyway... she finally told us she was pretty sure it's a girl.  We both have felt like it was a girl, so we're going with that!  I can't wait to go shopping... the doctor told me to save my receipts just in case.  We're having another ultrasound in a month where we will hopefully know 100% if it's a baby girl.  Anyway we are super excited!!!

Random pictures

I finally have a few things to post about.  I haven't had much to say because we really don't get out much, which I am totally fine with.  I'd rather lay on the couch and watch the Olympics anyway.  Because I'm just so tired!  Whenever pregnant ladies told me how tired they were I never understood how incredibly tired that really is.  It's like I could just nap all day long and still go to bed early and sleep through the night.  Making a baby is hard work (I keep reminding Dan of this). Speaking of work... my job starts up again next week.  I'm excited to get back into a routine, but a little nervous.  Just crossing my fingers I'll survive!

Now for a few random photos I have snapped this summer of things I have actually done other than lay on the couch...

At Nielsen's with Dan's family.  Can't have a visit without a trip to Nielsen's!
Double rainbow over Cafe Rio!  For a while St. George was rainy and I loved it.  Meant less than 100 degrees every day!
New washer and dryer!  I love them! We figured we should get a decent set because I'm sure I'll be doing more laundry once baby comes.
At the fair with our niece.
Carnival games.  Dan loves them!  I just try to forget how much the carnies are cheating us.
The fair was really fun, but after walking around in 102 degree weather for a while I was ready to go home.  I had to get a huge snow cone at the end to survive.

And last bit of news... we find out Baby D's gender tomorrow!  We are super excited!  Except I keep worrying they won't be able to tell and they'll say... "sorry, come back next month!"  haha... hope that doesn't happen.  I'll be sure to update tomorrow!

First Trimester

I'm about to post some not so flattering photos of myself, but I wanted to show my first trimester belly pics!  Ok I really don't have much belly to show for it, but it's still fun to see the changes from month to month.  I don't think there's been much change between 2 and 3 months, but I definitely feel fat!

I know the 3 months pic is kind of hard to tell (solid colored shirts work better), but it's really not much different than 2 months.

Sorry my blog is now all about the baby and pregnancy, but really nothing else exciting is going on at our place (my next best news is we got an awesome paper shredder from Costco... see?  Not too exciting!).  Plus when you're pregnant and sick, it's hard to think of much else.  I am 12 weeks today and I'm hoping I'll start feeling better soon!

Thanks for all the love, support & comments!

Ultrasound

We had our 2nd ultrasound today and it actually looked like a baby this time!  At first the baby was very still but then started kicking around and getting a little more active.  We tried to tell if it was a boy or girl, but it was hard to see.  The ultrasound tech told me she had a guess though, but wouldn't tell us what it was.  We did set our gender ultrasound date... it's in exactly 4 weeks.  So far the poll is pretty one sided.  We'll see if this is a little girl like everyone is guessing or if a little boy will shock us all!  We will definitely be happy with either gender.  I did tell Dan right after we find out what we are having I'm going baby clothes shopping though!  I just love seeing this little baby!

Update

Thanks everybody for all of your nice comments about baby Deceuster!  I'm just about 11 weeks and my doctor does the gender ultrasound at 15 weeks.  We are so excited to know!  1 more month and I can start buying stuff!  Can't wait!   Also, please take a minute and vote on our new poll to the left!

And here's a little update of our lives...

  • So I had all these plans to do lots of projects this summer.  I think on that list so far the only one I have completed is cleaned out our closet.  Morning sickness, or for me, all day sickness, has kind of put a halt to my plans.  But I am looking forward to the 2nd trimester where I can hopefully get a lot done.
  • Last week we spent the 4th of July in California with Dan's family.  I was a little worried about the traveling part, but Unisom saved me!  It has really helped ease the nausea for me.  I don't know if I would have made it otherwise.  In California we went shopping, watched a parade, watched fireworks, BBQ'd, played mini golf and had a Jane by Design marathon (love that show... and got Dan's mom and sister also hooked... I highly recommend it if you have Netflix).  It was so nice to relax the whole week and not think once about cooking or cleaning!
  • We got home last Saturday and Dan's mom and sister came with us.  They are spending the week with us.  His mom has also been cooking and cleaning here... she is helping me so much!  Being in the kitchen has been the hardest thing for me.
  • Dan's brother Ethan & his wife & 2 kids moved down here this week.  We are so excited to live by family!  They live just a 2 minute drive away.
  • We saw Hairspray at Tuacahn last night.  I was really worried about going (since it was in the 100s) and I didn't want to have to run out of the performance if I got sick, but once again, Unisom saved me!  That and a lot of prayers :).  We enjoyed the show and are really looking forward to seeing Aladdin in October.
  • I have decided  to go back to my job in August!  I have been debating, but I feel like it's the right thing to do.  I talked to my principal and she told me I could work as long as I wanted.  My plan is to work just til Christmas break and then be done.  Then I'll have a good month to get things ready for baby.  I think working will help the time pass by more quickly.  I'll go crazy if I just sit around and wait for baby to come.
  • Went swimming today!  It's been super hot here... 109 to be exact, it was so refreshing.
  • Other than that I've just been resting and taking it easy.  So happy I get the summers off!
