Swim Time!

Lately this semi-warm weather has got me thinking about summer! And that got me thinking about swimming... and then i thought about getting a new swimsuit! Honestly, I don't really need a new swimsuit, but every summer I always want a new one :). I think they're fun to shop for. I usually go to Shade (that's where I got mine last summer). But then I looked at their new swim line and I wasn't too excited. So I started searching, found this other site that sells modest swimwear called Lime Ricki and I love their swimsuits (well... most of them)! They have sooo many cute ones! They are also cheaper than Shade, which is fabulous! I thought I'd share this site with all of you, in case you too are wanting a new swimsuit.

Another reason I want a new swimsuit is because I have been planning our trip to Disneyland in May. I'm sure we'll either swim at the beach or at least at the hotel.

Here are the ones I liked the best... I'm not sure which one I would want, so I'm asking you to vote! Then I can see which one everyone likes the best :). Plus I love polls, they are so fun. Please vote on the right- thanks!

Hmmm.... I must like pink :) Cute, right? I think they're so fun! Now good look at them for yourself... here.

And in other good news... I have been looking for a job for a long time. I feel like I have sent my resume to every job in Utah County! Ok... not quite that much, but I have applied to a lot of places. I even had a lot of interviews, but most of the time once I went to the interview, I didn't really want the job (ok maybe I was being a little picky). Anyway, I graduated 3 months ago and I was getting so sick of looking! Then... at Dan's work, they landed this huge client, that needs tons of help on his website. So Dan was telling me how they need to hire 2 new people, just to work on the site of this client. Well... Dan talked to his boss to see if maybe I could work for them. And he said yes! Hooray! However, they think it would be best if I work from home (husband/wife at work... may be weird for some people?) Anyway... how sweet is that? So basically I get to write content for this guys' web page. It's a site about things to do in different cities across the U.S. He pretty much wants pages about EVERY city in the U.S. So it's quite the task and I get to help write all of them. I'm pretty excited because I love looking up stuff like that and I'm pretty sure I'm going to find tons of places I want to go on vacation. I'm really excited to start working in the comfort of my own home :). And thanks to my husband for always being super awesome!

Other good news... I just put up my Easter decorations.

Last bit of good news... My parents come home in 3 months! Woo hoo!

Things are definitely starting to look up :)

Headboard= complete

We finished the headboard! If you saw my post 2 spots down, then you know I've been wanting to making a headboard I saw on DIY. Well we did it, and here it is...

I think it definitely makes a difference in the room. If you go to my craft blog you can see before and after shots. I love it and it only cost us around $20 to make. Plus it was very easy- I didn't like the sanding part, but other than that, it was great!

Guess What???

Dan and I have a new website! I'm really excited about it b/c I think it's looking pretty great! We decided to create a restaurant review website b/c we go out quite a bit. Plus it's something fun for us to do together.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

http://www.dineoutduo.com/

It's mostly for Utah Valley restaurants, but a lot of them can be found other places. So even if you don't live down here, I'm sure some of it may still be helpful. Plus we've got a page of deals at different places all over. Link to us on your blog, check back often, we're always going to new places, so it'll be updated frequently!

Hope you like it!

New headboard

So Dan and I don't have a headboard. I've always wanted one, but every time I find one I like, it's pricey! And really... what is the purpose of a headboard? Trying to help Dan see the practicality of it is quite the task. Um... it makes your bed look nicer? Well that's why I want one. It just looks nice, right? And as a side note, I googled the purpose of a headboard- one site said it keeps your pillows in place (?) I've never had the problem of my pillow moving. But anyway, regardless to whether it has a purpose or not, I still want one.

I finally found a cheap solution to my headboard dilemma. Thank you, DIY!

I am going to make my own! DIY tells you how (they also have lots of other headboard ideas, if this isn't your style). This nice, clean & simple headboard is made of plywood. Which in my few times of going to Home Depot, I'm pretty sure plywood isn't all that expensive. So I emailed the idea to Dan and he said YES! I'll post pictures once it's complete! Yay for a new Saturday project :)

Blanket party

I've really been wanting to do that Disney give a day, get a day program, so I finally signed us up! Our service was to make fleece blankets for an organization that gives them to children in need. Each person was supposed to make 3 blankets. I signed up Dan and myself and then my sister Noelle and her boyfriend Jared wanted to do it too. If you haven't heard of the program, basically you give a day of service and then you get a free day at Disneyland.

On Saturday night we all got together for a blanket making party. I had already made 3, so we were just working on Dan's 3. Noelle and Jared had 6 to make. Amazingly, we made them in the EXACT same amount of time! But my partner got a little distracted by the Olympics... ok... a lot distracted. But hey, we got them all done!

We are really excited to go to Disneyland, but it was also a lot of fun doing service together. I think it's a great program Disney has set up. If you are interested in doing it, you can look at their website here. I believe they are only doing the first million people though, so you should sign up soon!
